The Karori Community Swimming Pool forms an important part of Wellington City Council’s community leisure facility network. The new indoor pool replaced the much loved outdoor summer pool and features a 25M lap pool, learners and toddler’s pools. Additionally, there is a pool side spa pool and future proofing for the inclusion of a waterslide.

An important feature of the design is the light and open pool hall served by large windows and skylights. However, an essential design objective for Karori Pool was to deliver a design that successfully overcame the complex environmental and technical demands inherent in indoor swimming pool buildings within a simple architectural design concept while delivering core leisure amenities in a quality and economically efficient environment.
