NAPIER PAK 'N SAVE

Napier is well known for some fine examples of Art Deco buildings - the decorative style of this period exhibits a playful exuberance with repetition, streamlining and geometric patterning. We have reflected some of this character in the horizontal banding and ziggurat shapes in the façade, skewed columns as a feature at the main entrance and the rhythm of glazed pyramids over the verandahs, which combine to express forms in response to this architectural style.

The soaring atrium rises above the paved boulevard linking the main entrance to Station Street, forming an important link to the store and contributing to the urban pedestrian circulation network.
