Scale models are extremely useful as a design tool and can be incredibly informative. A simple model made of white card allows a client to have a clear understanding of the scale and the architectural form and how sunlight might enter the house at various times of the day. On steep and difficult sites it can greatly increase ones ability to review the design and adapt to the topography where required.
