This classic corner pub was in need of structural strengthening and a major overhaul. The redevelopment of the property included the rearrangement of the entire ground floor into two traditional bars with a restaurant food service provided from a new kitchen. New male and female toilets plus storage and other support spaces were woven into the design. Caricature puppets of famous political and sporting personalities are displayed in the bars and contribute to the innovative and unique décor. This pub has stood the test of time and remains one of Wellington’s most popular establishments.
